What do you get when a company that sells cold air sponsors a golf outing on a 98° day with enough humidity to swim through?
The irony wasn't lost on us.
We were perched above the pond at the par 3 16th at Midland Hills Country Club for SVL, with a perfect view of a giant Pringle shaped green. Most golfers had their irons dialed in, sticking shots close to the pin. A select few, however, appeared to be auditioning for a National Geographic special by seeing if they could clonk a loon in the pond.
The best part? Despite everyone wearing what felt like a second set of wet clothes, the laughs never stopped. That's what makes these outings so much fun.
The hole-in-one prize was a brand-new residential HVAC system. We were secretly hoping they'd install one under our tent, but no such luck.
We saw plenty of shots that had everyone holding their breath... but no ace today.
Now, if you'll excuse us, we're off to wring out our shirts and wait for our own HVAC upgrade.
