Swing for Kids Golf Outing – Spring Lake Golf & Country Club
The rain may have soaked the course with over two inches in the 24 hours leading up to tee time, but that didn’t stop this tough Sac County crowd. The Swing for Kids Golf Outing forged ahead at Spring Lake Golf & Country Club, where soggy fairways and mud-soaked shoes were just part of the fun.
Midway through the day, Mother Nature made a surprise cameo with a short but dramatic storm featuring lightning and a downpour that had everyone scrambling but not quitting. The tee box was saturated, the garbage can overflowing with empty Busch Lights, and the laughter echoing across the course was as steady as the rain. There were some brilliant shots, a few that might need to be erased from memory, and plenty of stories to tell.
Despite the weather, spirits were high, funds were raised for Sac County Schools, and no one left dry or disappointed. The day wrapped up with a hearty steak and chicken dinner courtesy of Arcadia Meats, the perfect way to cap off a wet and wonderful day on the links.
